HAND SCREEN PRINTED ART

ABOUT

Justine Ellis is a London based printmaker who specialises in screenprinting. She recently spent 3 years as Screenprinting Fellow at the Royal Academy of Art in London.

Having initially studied Fine Art Sculpture, Justine is interested in creating prints that evoke imagined landscapes where abstract objects slide in and out of the frame - a sort of 2D sculptural tableau. As well as printing editioned pieces on paper, Justine also creates one off pieces printed onto linen which are more akin to paintings. Both elements of her work play with texture and opacity. An interest in mid century art and architecture can be seen in her work.

Justine has been exhibiting her work since 2009. She was recently selected for an exhibition at Rosebery’s Auction House Gallery, showcasing the work of 12 up and coming and established female artists in London to coincide with the Dulwich Arts Festival. She has previously exhibited at Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair and the Other Art Fair in London. This year she has been accepted into Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, as well as the Bainbridge Print Open.
